Guest guest
Here's the link to the salsa folder area, there are several calling for tomatillos %2ARecipes/Appetizers/Salsa\ s/ Look in the Mexican recipe folder too. Use the little search box in the nessage area, put tomatillos in the advanced search for body of message. It should bring up posted recipes using them. The friend who grew them suggested making salsa or cutting up and adding to a salad. Any suggestions for other uses? I did cut one up and we ate it just to see what it tasted like - OK but nothing too spectacular. The truth is that I didn't really notice any flavour. How can I tell if they are ripe? This friend also gave me some little wee teeny tiny purple hot peppers. She warned that they are very hot. Anyone have any experience with these? could I chop and freeze them in a little wee teeny tiny baggie for use in recipes later in the winter? My husband does not like spicy food so I'm not sure what I'll do with them. Thanks Audrey
Guest guest
Hi Donna I have a kitchen full of produce already that is going into soups, stews etc for the freezer and another item to make would just put me over the top. My husband bought a new computer yesterday and when we pick it up, I'll be in charge of getting it up and running for him so I need to skinny down my stock of fresh veggies before then. I love fresh produce but not all at once!!! Having said that...............I hope to get to a big farmers market on Saturday to pick up carrots for juicing, some winter cabbage and whatever else draws me in. I have a very bad/good habit of buying more than we can eat fresh and then I'm faced with the task of preserving it somehow. I'm not complaining but I still haven't recovered from my last holiday. Why would I need to recover from a holiday? I guess the older I get, the longer it takes to get over the fatigue of travelling and to get back into my routines. I also need some time to sit at my sewing machine. Does anyone have any time left over that they could lend to me - an unsecured loan of time??? That would fit with our times.
