Guest guest
Hi Audrey, Some of those things never change LOL I can only imagine trying to clean rthe spatula off the pan. Oh he took some of my cast iron pans camping a few years ago. What a rusty mess they were. How can anyone wreck cast iron pans? When I go on holiday, I have learned from experience, or thought I had, to hide the non-silicone spatulas. I hid them, along with my favourite fry pans, when I went to England this summer but I forgot when I went to SD. I came home to a melted spatula - the only one of 4 spatulas in the tool holder that is not silicone. Why would he have to use that one for his scrambled eggs? He should have remembered what happened last time he used one. He said he had a heck of a time cleaning the residue off his non stick pan. Apparently melted spatulas stick. I'm not going away for a long time so hope I remember to hide them next time. __ c\_/ Audrey

Guest guest
Donna, how did you get the cast iron pans useable again? I have some that look like that. Thanks. Diana
Guest guest
One of my good experiences with rusty cast iron pans was to put them in one of those ovens that heat to very high temperatures to clean itself. All of the rust and grease went away. Then I was able to oil it and put it in the oven for the " treatment " . Although, my husband cleaned one of my pans by " sandblasting " it with his auto parts cleaning system. That worked just as well. Kathleen how did you get the cast iron pans useable again?
