reply to the post about ugly cooked lentils

      Lentils...I like them a lot.  They're " beans " but they don't look

like beans.  I've never thought they look funny when cooked.  Now

black beans--WE think they look weird when cooked.  I usually have to

hide them  by mixing them in with other (red or light-colored) beans

when I make a chili or something--my DH thinks that plain cooked

black beans are gross and they look really strange with brown or

white rice.  (But not if you use the dark-purple rice!  Then you

can't tell which is black beans and which is " black " rice!)

I typed the message and didn't delete the entire digest before adding the
