Guest guest
Ok, this is going to sound silly, I have never liked cucumbers, ever. I like pickles but not cucumbers. Then this past Sunday, we were at my neighbors house and she offered me a handful of sliced, seasoned English cucumbers. I didn’t want to be rude so I accepted and I actually liked them! They were sweet and actually had “flavorâ€. My question is does anyone have a Cucumber Sandwich Recipe they recommend?
Guest guest
I use dark rye bread and put on thinly sliced cucumbers and thinly sliced onions and top with cream cheese. Boy do I ever love them. M On Wed, Oct 22, 2008 at 10:06 AM, Mel <sylkwood wrote: > Ok, this is going to sound silly, I have never liked cucumbers, ever. I > like pickles but not cucumbers. Guest guest
I make cuc sandwiches as an appetizer and all my friends have come to expect them when ever I have a party. I get a loaf of the cocktail bread (they are the small squares), you can use any, pumpernickel, rye or the sourdough, spread a little mayo on the bread, peel and cut the cucumbers in about 1/2 " slices and sprinkle with Janes Crazy Mixed UP Salt. Let them sit for about 15-20 mins before serving so the cucumbers become seasoned with the salt.
