Guest guest
I haven't seen the cheese on apple pie much outside of my own family. We live in Wisconsin. The side of my family that does this originates from parts of Wisconsin, Ohio, Kentucky, and Texas... and are mostly German or Dutch. I'm not sure where it comes from, but many insist that cheese enhances the flavor of the apple. I personally find pie tastes a bit *off* with cheese... I'd rather have a caramel! Although, I must keep in mind that this is the same family that likes to top their cinnamon rolls with slices of bologna.
