Guest guest Posted November 4, 2008 Report Share Posted November 4, 2008 Sour Cream And Rhubarb Squares 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup nuts, chopped 1 tablespoon margarine, melted 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, packed 1/2 cup vegetable shortening 1 large egg 2 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 cup dairy sour cream 1 1/2 cups rhubarb, cut into 1/2 " Mix first 4 ingredients until crumbly; set aside. Cream together brown sugar, shortening and egg. Stir together flour, soda and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with sour cream. Stir in rhubarb. Turn into a greased and floured 9x13-inch pan. Sprinkle with reserved topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes, or until it tests done. Cut into squares, and serve warm or cold.
