Guest guest
If you can stand one more reply, I wanted to pass this on. My dr just " made " me see a nutritionist because my cholesterol skyrocketed for seemly no reason. I argued that I " knew " about eating healthy but I finally gave in and went. What I wanted to pass on is this: It's not necessarily what you are eating, but what you are NOT eating. I often felt like I was stuffing myself to fill up, and I had to have something sweet to end my meal. I was often starving. I was instructed by the nutritionist to eat 23g of fiber a day with, even MORE important, 8 g of soluble fiber. I didn't even know what soluble fiber did! (It flushes out the cholesterol) I, now, am almost NEVER hungry, I can hardly eat everything I need to eat each day, and I am NOT gaining weight. I eat oatmeal, flaxseed, walnuts, and fruit for breakfast, a banana at 10:30. Lunch includes lots of veggies and almost always beans. PM snack is fruit and maybe fiber bread. Dinner is veggie, main dish, beans, fruit. I've been making soups with barley, or lentils, or beans (chili) almost weekly to have on hand.
