Guest guest
As some of you know, Retired Chefs do one of two things... A. Find a young person and make them an Apprentice... Or B. Write a cook book... I have chosen the latter... Step one...Write down your recipes. Step two...Cook the recipes from what you have written down... This makes sure that you have not forgotten or over looked anything... Step three...find people who will cook your recipes and tell you what to improve... Step four...Find a publisher... Step five...pray that people buy the cook book... well, I can tell you that I am at Step Three... The working title,(The one my wife likes) is... COOKING FOR VEGANS,VEGETARIANS AND OTHER TERRESTRIAL ALIENS... I would like to ask this group...What would you call it? Thanks...Hugs,Chef... Guest guest
Chef, I like your title and the concept. Personally, I would ONLY suggest reversing the order of the first 2 words: " Cooking for Vegetarians, Vegans and Other Terrestrial Aliens " . Your tongue-in-cheek humor is evident in the " Other Terrestrial Aliens " . (Smart people will " get it " others may say, " HUH?? " ) The reason I suggest the switch of the first 2 words is that the broader audience would likely be the " Vegetarians " ; the " Vegans " , also in your reading/cooking audience, seem to be the more specific group. If I (a non-vegan) were looking for a vegetarian cookbook, I would be drawn to yours and naturally, the first word I'd read, were it " Vegans " , I might think, " Oh... " and possibly not as readily open it up to see what the recipes were. Reading it as " ...Vegetarians, Vegans and Other Terrestrial Aliens " would probably pique my interest right away. I would know your recipes are most likely suitable for vegans, as well as " general vegetarians " and, once I looked in it and saw all your neat recipes, I'd seriously consider buying it--even if ALL the recipes were entirely vegan. I guess it's all a matter of psychology: the first word one reads is what stands out and determines a large part of the attitude that follows. I sincerely wish you well in your cookbook publishing endeavor! Let us know when it comes out in print--and where we might purchase it! best regards, Laura B., in Illinois. PS: I love your wife's name!
