Guest guest
I've been on a number of bus trips that stopped only at Cracker Barrel. I couldn't find much at all that was vegetarian friendly there. Have they changed their menu? At one stop, I asked for a plain cheese sandwich. After much discussion, I got two slices of bread with a slice of cheese - no butter, not mayo, no lettuce. It was not very nice but it was safe to eat I guess. How many of the fast food places that serve veggie burgers actually cook them on a meat free grill?. We have one local one but only one. I don't eat eggs when I'm out because they are usually cooked on the same grill as the bacon and sausage. I stay away from most fast food places to avoid contamination. It sure limits the outings. I actually take my lunch to these places and while my friends eat whatever they want, I just enjoy my veggie lunch. Guest guest
Hi, Yes, Cracker Barrell does not offer a vegi burger. They do have something new called the Veggie. It comes with eggs but you can ask that they dont put eggs in it. The Veggie Skillet starts with a bed of homestyle potatoes and is layered with broccoli, mushrooms, onions, peppers and tomatoes, then topped with two eggs, cooked to order, plus melted cheese. Served with homemade buttermilk biscuits, real butter and the best preserves, jam n' apple butter (on request) we could find. They do have delicious desserts. It would be great if Cracker Barrell did serve a veggie burger and meat substitutes. Usually when I go to Cracker Barrell, I will order a breakfast. Breakfast is served all day. I usually will get pancakes. I think the pancakes have milk in it. They have some delicious dess Burger King does have a garden veggie burger. I dont know if it is cooked on a meat free grill. Subway has a veggie sandwich. It is a bun with anything you want on it from lettice, olives, to tomatoes. Panera Bread serves on Friday's a low fat vegetarian garden vegetable soup. The sandwiches that they have every day are tomato and Mozzerella, and a Mediterranean Veggie sandwich.
