I haven't found any of the Loma Linda or Worthington products but I

am very

partial to Amy's Organics products. Their Tomato Bisque is very good.

One of my daughters made some delicious chili for dinner tonight, with the

Worthington Vegetarian burger. She browns it in a little oil before she adds it

to the rest of the ingredients. I love that fact that the meat substitutes

take very little cooking, because they aren't like uncooked me*t. It's quick

to add them to recipes.

Check out our substitutes for meat recipe folder, casseroles, ethnic foods,

breakfast foods, soups, recipe files and you'll find lots of great recipes to

try. Also Worthington/Loma Linda website has some recipes on their website.

I use the Choplets, which are gluten slices when I make Vegetable stir fry. My

recipe for it is in the files.

I love the frozen slices of Worthington products. They are like a luncheon

meat, that you just thaw and use on subs. Or you can brown it in a frying pan,

heat it in the microwave or over until crispy. Excellent for sub sandwiches.

Tender Rounds I drain and simmer in some Marinara Sauce and serve on Whole Wheat

subs with mozzarella cheese sprinkle on top and then cover with the other half

of your bread for a great quick Italian sub sandwich.

Enjoy these great products.

BTW I love the Amy's Indian frozen dinners. Super Targets carry quite a few

of them and we love to take them with us when we are traveling on the road. We

keep them in the cooler and then heat them up in the microwaves at gas stations.

They will let you do this with no problem. I appreciate that so much.

Thank you! I'll have to order some of their products! I'm not really

jazzed about the Amy's me*-t-loaf by the way. That's so far the one thing I

wasn't too happy about.

They were really sweet to me when I emailed them and told them I was very

happy with their canned products during Hurricane Ike. I told them we'd

lost power and I did really well because I had found canned products I could

enjoy in an emergency situation, it meant that I didn't have to compromise

my principals during a very difficult time. They sent me a letter and

coupons for canned and frozen products because they recognized that in

losing power I'd lost frozen food as well.

How nice!

That's a good idea to keep some canned Amy's and Worthington and stuff like

that for an emergency. I usually only have canned beans and fruit in the

pantry. I eat a lot of frozen food. Woke up yesterday morning at 5:30 to no

electricity :( It was back on by 8 am, but I was getting kind of worried

about my frozen

Funny -- I loved Amy's veggie loaf! Just goes to show, tastes differ! :) My

absolute favorite dinner of Amy's is her green tamale, with beans and corn

in it.
