Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm making eggplant relish for tonight's International Dinner....I hadn't really thought about the pine nuts the recipe calls for. The school is 'peanut, tree nut, and nut oil free'. I know walnuts, almonds and the like are not allowed, but what about pine nuts? I don't think they are a tree nut but I don't know. Guest guest
I have a friend who is highly allergic to nuts and she can eat pine nuts. I believe they are OK. ________________________________ " akfral " <akfral Thursday, November 13, 2008 9:11:53 AM question for the knowledgable about nut allergy Hi everyone, I'm making eggplant relish for tonight's International Dinner....I hadn't really thought about the pine nuts the recipe calls for. Guest guest
Pines are trees too! pine nuts are found in the pine cones of the sugar pine and pinyon pine. Sunflower seeds, sesame, hemp seed are probably OK, seeds do not seem to affect people with nut allergies. Hemp seeds are somewhat similar to pine nuts in flavor. , akfral wrote: > > Hi everyone, > I'm making eggplant relish for tonight's International Dinner....I hadn't > really thought about the pine nuts the recipe calls for.
