A little chow chow relish to go with the empanada. Roseta
Guest guest
Empanada = pie? turnover? Basically I took many packages of my own garden grown frozen greens, made a filling with them (turnip greens, 2 types of kale and collard, onions, garlic, cheeses, herbs, bread crumbs), made a dough (I used the dough traditionally made for samosas) we filled the pastries, closed them, and my partner deep fried a bunch of them. We then froze them in bags and it is part of our food selection for dinner when we get home tired and do not have energy/time to cook. This way i can eat garden food even when it is too dark to go out there and pick dinner from the back yard....LOL. , Barb <tigger_twins wrote: > > Rosetalleo > > What is an empanada? > > > > > Barb > > --- On Thu, 11/13/08, rosetalleo <rosetalleo wrote: > > rosetalleo <rosetalleo > Re: Question of the Week - What's for Dinner > > Thursday, November 13, 2008, 12:43 PM A bowl of creamy spicy-smoky black bean soup and probably a mixed > greens empanada (from the freezer to the toaster oven while the soup > warms up).
