What helped me overcome this is my dear old vet, he's almost 70 now. He sat me down and said, Donna pets are long on love but short on life. They will forever live in our hearts but think back on the fond memories and don't cry too hard. Run out and rescue another and enjoy the love. He was so right, I always think back on that.
