Guest guest
I always read the peanut butter labels and I've never seen egg whites in any of the brands I use. I refrigerate my peanut butter for about 6 mos but as Donna said it seems to dry out so I then turn it into yummy cookies. I will watch for the egg whites, I see no need to add those to peanut butter. Marsha , " wwjd " <jtwigg wrote: > > There is one of those jars of natural peanut butter that puts Egg Whites in it. Why in the world they do that is beyond me, but you definitely have to keep those refrigerated and 6 months is almost to long if it has the egg whites in it. Most natural brands of Peanut butter don't have this in it and if that is the case, then it should still be great! I just love to go to Fresh Market(upscale grocery store) and grind up my own peanuts into peanut butter. It has no added oil and tastes wonderful and is only $1.99-2.99/lb. Also many health food stores have these nut butter grinders, made right in front of you from nuts. and it is just slightly highter. > Judy > - > AJ > > Monday, November 17, 2008 12:34 PM > Peanut butter ? > > > I have a jar of natural peanut butter in my fridge, its been there 6 months we don;t eat it often. Does anyone know how long it will keep. Thanks in advance. > AJ > >
