Guest guest
I'm not so sure I understand this question.? You cook the beans and you serve it over the cooked rice.? If your rice is ready before the beans are you can always reheat it, same thing for the beans.? It doesn't really have to be exact. I usually use Uncle Ben's instant brown rice which cooks in 15 mins (even though they advertise it as cooking in 10). I??work until 7:00 p.m. and??I don't want to wait around for 40-45 mins for?regular?brown?rice to cook when I get home.? How do you cook the brown rice with it?? i've tried twice and can't get the timing or the rice right. ~Deanne
Guest guest
I think you wanted to cook your black beans and rice together in one pot? You can use canned black beans and make your rice separately. I had to ponder on this question. I think you were trying to boil them together. Guest guest
I cook and freeze brown rice. It defrosts well and then I add it to whatever dish I am cooking. Veggie soup in the crockpot was the last time I added the thawed rice..at almost the end of the cooking. sue TendrMoon wrote: > > > I'm not so sure I understand this question.? Guest guest
I always cook beans separately from the rice. The exception would be lentils, sometimes i cook them together with brown rice (and onions, garlic, herbs). Rice and lentils have a similar cooking time. , Deanne Campbell <deanne757 wrote: > > yes, i was cooking them separately and serving the beans over the rice > > --- On Thu, 11/20/08, TendrMoon <TendrMoon wrote: > > TendrMoon <TendrMoon > Re: Black Beans and Rice- Deanne > > Thursday, November 20, 2008, 9:27 AM I'm not so sure I understand this question.?
