Guest guest
Audrey, Your little Sally is just so cute! We have a tortie (we think she's a Maine Coon!) that my older DD " rescued " (and adopted) about 13 yrs ago. She's so smart and very alert, though not as frisky now in her " senior years " as she was a while back. She definitely makes efforts to communicate with us (or at least to me--she seems to be a one-person cat, and I've become " it " since older DD left to college and then married a few years back. Those torties are special--you are so right about that! I hope your little kitty gets herself a really warm and caring " forever home " ! You will probably miss her when she does, though! Warm thoughts from one cat person to another! --Laura B., in Illinois
Guest guest
Thanks. I love torties. I will miss her very much when she is adopted, I'm very attached to her. But letting her go will allow me to help another cat! She may end up staying with me, though, if she doesn't behave herself any better next Saturday at the adoption event!! Audrey S. Guest guest
Laura, I have a long-haired tortie, too! Don't see those very often She's one of my 3-year-old girls, sisters -- I never wanted a long-haired cat, but... Luckily for me, Myrtle's fur does not mat, not even under her arms or on her belly!! She's softer after brushing, but it's not a necessity! No shaving drama, either. But she's a chewer, as a kitten swallowed a stud earring (which, fortunately, passed!) and recently, a part of a bird toy that blocked her intestine, and so we had to go through the upset and pain and expense of bowel obstruction surgery. I'm very careful now what kinds of things are left laying around, and I have a good idea of the textures she likes and keep away the ones that could block her up. She's my wild child. Audrey S.
