Guest guest
With all of the experienced cooks on this list, I thought I'd probably get some good tips. (And I'd prefer not to deal with the complex maintenance department, for a variety of reasons!) I've been in this apartment (with the same gas stove) for 3 years, and only occasionally had trouble getting the burners to light. Usually, helping the burner along with a match is all that's needed, and that burner lights fine the next time. (I do always check to make sure the pilot light is still on.) I spilled water on the stove top -- grrr... -- and opened up the top to mop it up. Then, no lighting action. Both pilot lights are fine (I'm assuming that's what they are, there's one in between the left front and back burners and one in between the right front and back burners), but I just can't get ANY of the burners to light! Got one lit with a match, but it won't re-light. Any other tips on using a gas stove would be appreciated. I like it -- not so big on the gas oven that is really lopsided in baking ability! Thanks!
