Guest guest
What are your favorite finger foods to make for the holidays. Dips, little canapes, etc that you like to make. I am looking for some new ideas that are different from the hummus, baba, spinach dip, cheese or crudite platter. Those things are good, don't get me wrong but they are common on the table. What do you make that is more unusual? Ideas that can be made ahead are really great to share! Al
Guest guest
I make *sausage wontons* Sausage (fake of course, or any crumbles) ranch dressing wontons white cheese (monterey jack, pepper jack, swiss, whatever you want) sliced olives Put each Wonton into a muffin tin, pushing into cup, but dont break. Put in 350 oven for about 5 or so mins to get them crispy. Take out. In a bowl combine the crumbles and ranch dressing, put a spoonful into each cup, top with cheese, place back in oven to melt the cheese. Take back out and place an olive on each one. ________________________________ Allison Sturgill <allice98 Wednesday, December 3, 2008 9:06:13 AM Good finger foods for the holidays What are your favorite finger foods to make for the holidays. Guest guest
My mom makes this cheese, smoked salmon roll which you can spread on cookies. I could get the recipe and the salmon could also be substituted with finely diced tomatoes or spinach. Tell me if you're interested. We also have this fabulous mozzarella stuffed baguette. It's served hot on the table and the mozzarella melts as each person cut their own slice. yum! Another idea are potato skins with garlic and mozarella on top, melted in the oven. Guest guest
Veggie Cream Squares 1 tube of crescent rolls 1 cup tofutti cream cheese, softened 1/4 cup green pepper, diced 1/4 cup red onion, diced 1/2 tbsp minced garlic salt and pepper to taste roll the crescent rolls out onto a cookie sheet. DO NOT separate them ( keep as one long rectangle) While baking, combine the softened cream cheese, diced and minced veggies, and salt and pepper. Stir until fully mixed. Let sit in the fridge for about 10-15 minutes while the crescents cool a little. Gently spread the mixture across the top of the crescents and cut into bite-sized pieces. I usually top with chopped spinach, but that is not necessary. The green and red makes it a little more holiday-ish Cassie --- On Wed, 12/3/08, Allison Sturgill <allice98 wrote: Allison Sturgill <allice98 Good finger foods for the holidays Wednesday, December 3, 2008, 10:06 AM What are your favorite finger foods to make for the holidays.
