Guest guest
I made a lentil loaf from allrecipes: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Lentil-Loaf/Detail.aspx It turned out perfect, but there are a lot of ingredients. So, I thought I would try the recipe that Pete reviewed. (I think it is Donna's recipe?) I followed the recipe as written. But, I must have done something wrong. I made it early in the day so if I messed up I could find something else. It is very nutty. Are my lentils undercooked? Is it supposed to slice? Mine doesn't. The little edge I scooped out was tasty, but...
Guest guest
I have made this recipe probably 50 times. Did you cook the lentols long enough? I have had some batches of lentils take longer. It sure does slice down. I'd give it a try again and see what happens. I haven't noticed a nutty flavor, did you put too many nuts in it? Guest guest
i've made it twice, and it slices great and has good texture... the first time i made it was a little mushy so i cooked it longer, and the second time, i made sure i drained everything really well so i didn't have any excess moisture... give it a try again and let us know how it turned out - this is my favorite easy loaf so far - also i did mine in a glass loaf pan, if that makes any difference I followed the recipe as written. Guest guest
I probably didn't cook them long enough. That's all I can figure out. And it didn't have a nutty flavor, the lentils were hard. I will try it again. It was one of those kitchen disasters. But, my husband is very forging. He ate the mashed potatoes and gravy and the broccoli. LOL sue Donnalilacflower wrote: > > > I have made this recipe probably 50 times. Did you cook the lentols > long enough? Guest guest
Thanks, Pete. I probably undercooked the lentils. My menu is pretty well set up till sometime next week. I will try it again. sue Pete Self wrote: > > > i've made it twice, and it slices great and has good texture... the > first time i made it was a little mushy so i cooked it longer, and the > second time, i made sure i drained everything really well so i didn't > have any excess moisture... give it a try again and let us know how it > turned out - this is my favorite easy loaf so far - also i did mine in a > glass loaf pan, if that makes any difference >
Guest guest
I have a gluten allergy and want to eliminate the bread and bread crumbs. Would corn tortillas work or possibly another egg to bind it together? I have successfully used chopped up corn tortillas to bind together potato pancakes instead of bread crumbs.
