Feeling bad for Sue about her lentil loaf not turning out... but you're not

the only one, Sue! :)

One Easter I made a quiche that was wonderful (lots of meat in it, before I

went veg). Lots of compliments! The next Easter, I thought I'd make a small

one for me without the meat, maybe add some veg sausage to it -- and the

regular recipe for everybody else. Mom talked me out of it, said she'd be

fine with no meat, so I made it without the meat. I also thought canned

tomatoes would be really good in it (not in the original recipe) -- not so

much. The darn thing tasted awful and fell apart, too! :(

This is the best story, though -- I talked to my aunt on the phone last

night, she was making cookies for a Christmas cookie sale at church. She had

committed to making 5 or 6 different kinds of cookies, double batches of

each. The rest she had made last week and put in the freezer, so she was

making peanut butter balls, and complaining about them! :) She called me

back about a hour later and said that she was now throwing away a double

batch of beautiful, delicious peanut butter balls. While cleaning up the

kitchen, she found that the knife she had used had lost the tip of the blade

-- and she had no idea in which peanut butter ball it was! I felt so bad for

her!!
