Please, please pray for my oldest son, Rick Conn, who lives in Allen, north of

Dallas, and the rest of our family. Rick called me about 5:20 this

afternoon.......his oldest child, his only daughter, my oldest grandchild, 21

year old Brittany Corrine Conn, was killed this afternoon in a one car, roll

over accident in Colleyville, Texas......I think on Hwy. 121, my son said.

I can't think..............and I don't know what to do..........all I can ask

is please pray for us.

Praying that you feel God's arms surrounding you as you grieve this termendous

loss. Let people help you with things. It will lighten your heartache and

loss to be loved and have their helping hands.

Nancy, I don't pretent to understand the pain you are in. I ca only

think what I would feel if this happened to me.

I am just so very, very sorry for your loss. I am praying for easing

of the pain so you can rest, but tomorrow when you awake it will be

another day to face without her.

My oldest grandchild, Kim, is 17 and driving for the first year on

snowy, slick Alaskan roads and I know that it could easily be me.

I wish there was something anyone could do it comfort you, but only

God can do that.

Nancy,

My family is and will continue to pray for you and your family. This is

a terrible tragedy. Praying for God to give you His peace and his

comfort at this time. Remember He gave His Son up to die too. He knows

better than I what kind of pain you are going through. My heart is

broken for you.

Love in Christ

Hello Nancy,

How really sad for you and your family- what a shock it must be for you all. It

is something which is so tragic and totally our of the blue. Sending prayers to

you at this really devastating time- having your family and the strength it

provides will be so important for those who are closest to the poor boy. Perhaps

you can support them by getting together the most delicious food that you can

make and by nourishing them so that they feel stronger physically. Our child

died and we know how terrible the experience is- the feelings of loss are so

extreme. To eat well and drink plenty of fluids is so important when it comes to

shock and there is so much help that can be offered by simply being there to

talk to.

Take care and sending prayers from England. I am so sorry for you.

Best wishes,

Renate

Hi Renate.....

Thank you for the words of comfort and all true. We, unfortunately

live about 150 miles from where my son lives and my granddaughter lived

in Colleyville, probably 25 or more miles from where my son, her dad, lives

with his wife and two little boys. My son and Brittany's mom have been

divorced

for about 18 years now and both remarried years ago.

I am sure that Rick and my daughter-in-law, Stephanie's church will be

providing

some sort of food after the services, whenever they are. I haven't heard

anything

yet. With it happening on a Friday afternoon, it seems things are kind of

put " on

hold " until after the weekend. My son and his wife had to go to the Tarrant

County's ME's office to identify her yesterday morning. What a nightmare.

I have wished for years that my older children lived closer to me or us to

them

but with 7 adult children, the chances of that happening are not great. My

children are sons 43 and 40, and daughters 34, 32, 24, 20 and 18. Quite a

spread

in ages. First four are from my first marriage of 17 years and the last three

from

my second marriage of, so far, 26 years and going strong. It is hard to even

get

everyone together at the same time.....everyone's lives are so busy. I have

13....

well, 12 now, grandchildren. Brittany was my oldest grandchild and only one

of two

granddaughters. My other granddaughter is only 20 months old. Seems

grandsons

prevail in our family.

Thank you again for your words of comfort.......I just don't feel it is real

yet.....

Here is a web address for the Ft. Worth Star Telegram that has carried a

couple

of articles about the accident.
