Audrey white sugar

I use it ande most of the vegan cookbooks I have,  sugar  is listed.  It's up to

you to try and decide if you want to use white sugar.  I personally like the

taste of raw sugar better but use white in many of my sweet breads, biscotti

 and cookies.

Dumb question probably, but... why is white sugar not vegan?
