Guest guest
Very tasty for asparagus lovers like me! Namaste, Woofs **************************************** Asparagus In a Blanket fresh asparagus whole grain bread thinly sliced Swiss cheese (optional) oil/butter Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Trim ends of asparagus where they snap; wash and dry. For every two asparagus flatten 1 slice of bread gently with a rolling pin. Cut in half. Put Swiss cheese, if desired, over each piece of bread. Top with asparagus spear and roll to completely encase. Take a pan large enough to hold asparagus in a single layer and add enough oil alone or mixed with butter to cover. Warm in preheating oven. Roll each blanketed asparagus in the hot fat and leave seam side down in the pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until bread is crisp. Serve warm. Guest guest
H0-my-ho-my! I absolutely love this group... The only change I would make to this is using a little bit of Garlic and a paper thin slice of red onion...Salt and pepper of course Then wrap in a sheet of PHILO DOUGH ( Turkish YUFKA). Yum-it-among-it...! Chef
Guest guest
I will be getting a Foreman grill for Christmas, so I think this would be great on there. Then the bread will get some pretty grill marks, too! Thanks for suggesting the swiss with asparagus. I love them both!
