With all the other ingredients, can't you use TVP?? Or tofu?? I think they

would take on the flavor of the other ingredients.

I've been using Worthington Fri-Chik smooshed up for chik'n salad

sandwiches and it works great. The texture is just like ground chik'n

and it tastes good too.

Since making Guy Fieri's Veggie burger,(which was awesome and I will

never buy Boca burgers again) I have been looking over some of his other

recipes. His recipe for Chicken Pattie looks awesome, but calls for

ground chicken! I need a substitute. Any ideas?

I would use 2 - 12.5 oz cans of Worthington Fri-chik, that I drained and put

into a food processor to grind up. Save the broth from the Fri-chik and freeze

to used to make a gravy or in a soup in the future.

Remember if you don't have local access to Fri-chik, Amazon and many other

places on the internet are only a click away.

Not much of anything around here except Boca Burgers. And our great

health food store is now a mountain furniture store. I did manage to

get quorn 30 miles away in Murphy at Ingles. But, a very small

selection. Himself said that in a couple of week we will go to

Chatanooga. He promised! We shall see. The Village Market addy has

been on my desk for months! Can you say " procrastinate " ?

We shall see!

Sue, what have you done with TVP? You seem to be on the same level of

cooking " expertise " (hah!) as me, so if you can do it, I might be able to do

it!

Same cooking level? Does that mean kindergarten? LOL

I have used TVP in spaghetti and stuffed peppers.

I also used it years ago while camping, thinking it would be great for

when we ran out of meat. But, I never read the directions and just

added it to whatever I was cooking. Doesn't work that way, so I found

out!

Actually, I was looking for the chunks, but ended up with the TVP

crumbles, which I think I like better.

Hee hee yeah, well, mostly referring the fact that it usually takes me 2-3

times to get a recipe right! :) (And by that time, I'm usually sick of

eating it!) Thanks!
