Hahahaha. I bought horseradish in place of celery root by error once. They look

related. I made my root soup and took a bite and almost passed out. That root

is nice and hot. The market had the wrong sign above it.

Do you have a microplane zester? You only need a little bit, peel it and finely

grate and add to mustard or mayo. Put on your veg burger, veg hot dog or use as

a sandwich spread or dip.

Horseradish root

I was in the supermarket yesterday and came across some horseradish root, for

which I have been searching for a couple of years. Now that I finally have some,

of course I cannot remember what I wanted it for. Any ideas on preparation,

preservation or uses for horseradish?

I also bought some young leaf spinach and I have to tell you that I still don't

like it. I will try hiding it in some veggie soup. I also remember reading that

it inhibits the uptake of calcium, which probably doesn't make it the best of

things for a vegan to eat.

TIA

Bear's got a great horseradish bread recipe in the bread folder; can't remember

right now if it's vegan tho. Very tasty!

Peace,
