I love kitties that talk. Sweet Pea and I used carry on long conversations!

Once my ex-sil asked me " you do know she's a cat, right? " .

Sam

I have talking kitties too!

Talking kitties! Siamese are pretty notorious for being talkers, so are

tortoishells. They meow like they're having a conversation with you, and

some expect verbal responses. It's different than a cat that wants to be

fed, they're just being chatty. :)

Mine are all black. Zoe is the one who has " conversations " , then there's Inara

who has a " question mark meow " , sounds like there's a ? at the end, as in " where

are you? " when she's looking for me. And Victor is my sweet boy, I'll call his

name and he'll look up at me with the cutest little meow, or he makes a little

noise as he's following me around the house....I love interactive cats!

You have 3 black cats? I have 3 tortoishells! Only one of mine talks, the

other two I bottlefed from 2 weeks old, my mom says they never meow because

they're so spoiled they've never needed anything. One of my bottlefed

kitties, Maudie, occasionally wanders around the house whining, and I have

to come get her and cuddle her. She won't come if I call her while she's

whining, though she comes 90% of the time otherwise. :)

My Maine Coon  " Tortie " almost never  " meows " like a regular cat; she has a

different vocalization for different situations--and she has tried diligently to

" teach " me what she

means when she wants (and " asks for " ) different things!

--Laura B., in Illiniois who just had a  " conversation " with Trixie, the " tortie "

cat!

That's neat! and interesting that they don't meow, but it does make sense when

you explain it that way.
