Fig and Pistachio Couscous Review

YUM!!!!!!! This recipe is wonderful!

We've got fresh figs coming in like crazy. .

I'm drying and freezing as many as I can. (Lost most of them to insects and

bees last year.)

My find of the day: Lightlife Smart 'Bacon' - 99 cents each! I grabbed all

four :)

I have a couple of fig trees and froze a lot last year. This year they are a

little late so they are still unripe.

I used quart or gallon freezer zip lock bags, split the figs in half and placed

them on the bag in one layer, so they could still be separated when frozen.

Having said that, this year I plan to dry a lot more than freezing, I ended up

using the dried figs a lot more. Donna's fig bread in the files is wonderful

and I make it pretty often.

I froze mine whole; cutting them in half makes more sense - quicker to defrost,

right? It's hard to explain to my husband why freezing is so much easier than

drying. However, we are limited to freezer space. We do plan to give our families

dried figs as Christmas gifts.

I'll have to look up that fig bread recipe!
