Audrey,

Eh, you'd probably LIKE St. Louis, though I know K-C is a big city, too!

I like going down to St. Lou to shop every rare once in a while.  Whole foods,

Trader Joe's (though, the first or second time I went to T-J's, I didn't really

think it was all that good--lots of prepared foods, not much in the way of

plain, " whole " foods (ingredients)...interesting anyway.  And there is a (maybe

more than one) really neat international grocery in the suburbs that has things

vegetarians can really get into!  Indian food ingredients, Mexican food

ingredients, all other " ethnic " foods--so many beans and kinds of rice that it

boggles the mind! I love shopping there, almost even more than a trip to Whole

Foods--and it's not so expensive!

If you ever get an urge to drive the long trek to St. Lou sometime in the

next year or so, let me know--we could meet up and find someplace for a nice

veggie lunch!  (If not in a restaurant, then at Whole Foods--I've never found

anything there I didn't like from their hot/cold/salad deli bar!)

     Have a great day!

PS:  Oh, and my hubby is outta town this evening--maybe this when I'll open and

try some of those canned veg. hot dogs you sent me!  :->

Each Trader Joe's will differ. I have shopped in 9 not far from me. One even

had pottery, aprons, etc. I find plenty of whole foods, fresh fruits and

veggies, raw sugar, natural chip items, soy ice cream, delicious sorbet, teas,

middle eastern flat bread, lavash, Tahitian vanilla, black Japonica rice, dried

fruits and nuts, and veggie burgers for a very low price.
