Guest guest
Question of the Week - What's for breakfast at your house, today and other days? --For me today, it was a smoothie (FF Vanilla yogurt, soymilk and a bit of V-8 " Fusion " juice for flavor). On most other days I usually have some rice, maybe a peanut butter sandwich on a whole grain bread...sometimes it's cooked eggs, greens (raw salad greens or left-over steamed greens like collard, kale or other...stuffed into a wheat pita half. I use my sourdough starter often to make a batch of waffles that get frozen.. My DH doesn't always " do " breakfast, but he likes those " grab and toast 'em or nuke 'em " waffles from the freezer. We put maple syrup, peanut butter, sometimes a fruit spread and (just me) occasionally indulge in " Neufchatel " (a lower-fat, but still tempting to me) " cream cheese " . I like fruit, but don't always have some handy. Breakfast is one of those " no big deal " things at our house. I've tried to " make " DH something every day for his breakfast, but he too often insists, " I ate a lot last night--still feel full " or, " I'm expecting to have a large noon meal with (the people he works with) today--I don't want breakfast, and you don't need to have a lot for supper, either! " O-KAY!! So, I try to have something for him if he WANTS it, and something I like for myself that is more substantial. I don't like to wait all day to eat--I tend to pig out at the next meal of the day if I skip breakfast! Oh, and I LOVE eating left-overs, even for breakfast! There is cold lasagna (made with Quorn--it turned out SO good!--That lasagna will likely be tomorrow's breakfast and maybe even lunch today for me! YUUUMMMM!! (And my DH LOVED it--he doesn't take to Quorn so quickly as I have, but this lasagna turned out just right!) Cheese grits and over-easy eggs (or scrambled, too!) are my idea of a cool breakfast--pass the Tabasco sauce, too! I like this from a restaurant when we're on vacation & are traveling. I haven't found a veg.. sausage I like to go with it, howeve, so it feels like something's missing...Someone could get rich if they made a nice, healthy vegetarian SMOKED link sausage (like " Smokey Links " )--I haven't had one of those in ever so long--that's the taste I crave with eggs and cheese grits or eggs and biscuits! Peace and blessings to everyone! Happy breakfasting! --Laura B., in Illinois PS: Did we do this as a QOTW topic before? I'm having some kind of " Deja-vu " feeling about this! Guest guest
Since I have morning classes and I'm not a morning person I have a banana and a piece of toast with peanut butter. Debbie

Guest guest
for breakfast I had smuckers natural peanut butter with slice of bananas. I can not tolerate bread of any kind so I have it like a tablespoon mixed with bananas. You can easily judge the character of a man by how he treats those who can do nothing for him. -James D. Guest guest
I had a Thea sandwich.... what? Elvis had one! Whole grain bread with Nutella and sliced banana grilled lightly with a schmear of oil in the pan to toast. I enjoyed it with vanilla soy milk and a beautiful sunrise. :~)
