Guest guest
A really delicious way to enjoy dates, is to take whole pitted date, slice them down thru the center, almost all the way thru and then stuff them with whole almonds, walnut or pecans halves. You can also stuff them with cream cheese that you've added some chopped nuts to. Dates are loaded with potassium and fiber. LOL She pops them like candy, she loves dates too, something else I have a hard time with, though I'll eat those before a prune. I try, I promise I try, I just can't...... ~Tee Recent Activity a.. 51New Members Visit Your Group Give Back for Good Get inspired by a good cause. Y! Guest guest
This sounds really good! I had heard of it but never tried it, and I love almonds and pecans, I wonder if pistachio's would be good? ~Tee - wwjd Thursday, April 16, 2009 10:30 PM Re: Dates - Tee A really delicious way to enjoy dates, is to take whole pitted date, slice them down thru the center, almost all the way thru and then stuff them with whole almonds, walnut or pecans halves. Guest guest
Try them with the pistachio's and let us know. It's only a few nuts and one date to enjoy and find out. Guest guest
We do something similar. Slice the date, add blue cheese (not everyone likes it but the sweetness of the date and the taste of the blue cheese goes very well together) and add a raw walnut. Easy to make and they are beautiful appetisers for a party. We cut a pitted date half way through and stuff some with cream cheese and some with peanutbutter and then roll them in sugar. They are best if they are prepared at least an hour before eating. Robin BTW, intro - I'm afraid I've been lurking for several weeks, and have immensely enjoyed the conversation and recipes shared. I'm Robin. I live in Florida with my husband and 4 children.
