Guest guest
Sorry the topic isn't more specific but I can't find one topic that covers all of this. First, I love the group. I don't post a lot and don't cook a lot (yet) but read all the recipes. What is the shelf life of unsweetened dried bananas? What is the best way to learn to like foods? Do any of you do food storage? Do you have any tips for doing a vegetarian food storage? Thanks, Uhura
Guest guest
Hi Uhura. Checking online, average shelf life of dried bananas is 1 year (if they last that long). The way we have found to try new foods is different and varied ways of preparing them. We try a new veggie by steaming it the first time. Then we will find different recipes for using it and try it that way. Sometimes we have to fix a new veggie several different ways before we find a way we like it. A sure-fire way to try something for us seems to be in a stir-fry. :-) Sorry I cant help you with the storage question though! We hit the farmers market once a week and buy what will last for that week. But I am interested in the answer too since we have a garden this year! Guest guest
Ok, Thanks. Hopefully I can make them last that long and keep them in food storage. It's so tempting to just eat them though. But I need to save things for when I won't be able to afford them (specifically summers).
