Guest guest
Sorry, I can't get the search thing to work so can't find my lasts posts on this topic. It just says nothing matches the criteria. So far the first loaf just tasted salty. The second was sunken in and tasted dry. I opened it and added more water and it still tasted dry. It also did't mix all the way. I'm now doing a different recipe. I had to open it and add more water and mix it since the machine didn't mix it all the way. I guess I'll see what this recipe turns out like. I think the machine is ok and there is something I should be able to do to get the bread right that I just haven't found yet. Uhura
Guest guest
Uhura, this shouldn't be that hard. I do wonder if there's something wrong with your machine. The fact that it's not mixing things thoroughly sounds like a problem. I know you don't necessarily want to eat a bread machine mix, but you might try getting one from the grocery store just to test your machine. If it screws up a mix, there's probably something wrong with it. Audrey S.
Guest guest
I've been wanting to buy a bread machine and can't find them in any of the department stores. Does one have to buy them online? Also, what brands are good. Thanks. Kathy
Guest guest
The best selling, favored ( & working!) machines in North America, I think are the Zojirushi, Breadman, and Panasonic brands. There are a lot on eBay, with it's own category for bread machines. For surprising deals on them, if there is a Goodwill or thrift store, bread machines or various brands are often found almost as new for just a few dollars. For everything about them, manuals, opinions and very particular recipes, join this group: bread-machine/ Slim , " Kathy " <Kathy wrote: > > I've been wanting to buy a bread machine and can't find them in any of the department stores. Guest guest
Not so surprising for me Slim. If I was to receive a bread machine as a gift, this is where it would end up.....I have been making bread by hand for 30 years and would have no use for a bread machine. I have tried them too, my brother used to have one and I have made bread with it. I much prefer bread made without the machine! Many folks are like me, which makes it really promising to get a good bread machine in working order! Roseta <----- thinking I better start a bread dough today.... Guest guest
Roseta, I so agree. Same with pasta. I made noodles the other night and for pennies and so little time and work. I had enough for two meals. I see so many bread and pasta machines at the thrift store along with many other machines. I'm sorry to say my daughter gave me her juicer and I've never used it. I could not bear to throw away all that pulp. She tried to give me her bread machine which she's never used but I said " no thanks. " I recently gave away my microwave to a nice lady on Freecycle. I rarely used it. Now one thing I do use is my hot air popper. Makes the best popcorn ever as long as we don't have a power outage. I also use my coffee grinder to grind nuts and spices . Coffee machines and those hot water foot massage things are multiplying by the dozens at the thrift stores. Also I'm thinking that no one makes toast or waffles these days because they too are everywhere. I think they went the way of the electric egg beater. Smile.. Just make sure you have a manual can opener in your emergency survival pack. Oh and a few board games. LOL Have a rewarding , peaceful day Deanna in Colorado , " rosetalleo " <rosetalleo wrote: > > Not so surprising for me Slim.
