Guest guest
Get carob. Chips from Whole Foods and make her cookies. Ude the recipe on the back of the Quaker Oats box or the Nestle Toll house recipe. She will love them. You guys know everything about food -- I want to give my stepmother a treat, she gets weird hive-type things (they look like hives but they're not itchy) whenever she eats chocolate. We're talking, TWO M & Ms and she gets at least one of these break-out things, it's awful! We were talking about this at Christmas, she was very nice to me at Christmas. She misses chocolate -- I can understand, I wouldn't know what to do without chocolate! She can do white chocolate, so I'm betting it's the cocoa bean that does it to her. Does anybody know of a certain brand or type of carob candy or cookies or something that is particularly good? I have a Whole Foods here in town, but no Trader Joe's, and one or two little independent health food stores. I just thought it would be a nice surprise, since she misses chocolate. Thanks! Audrey S. Guest guest
Ok, I'll do that. I just didn't know if carob was any good or not. I'll have to put a note on them that they are for her, and NOT for my dad (who will eat anything)! My stepmother and I are not really each other's favorite people, but I could tell she put a lot of thought into my Christmas gift, for my dad's sake. So I'm going to make more of an effort to be nice to her. Audrey S. On Sun, Dec 28, 2008 at 8:34 AM, <thelilacflower wrote: > Get carob. Chips from Whole Foods and make her cookies. Guest guest
I don't eat much chocolate as it can set off a migraine in me. I have 3. Friends who can't eat chocolate. I make them carob cookies all the time. They taste great. It can be a challenge being a step mom or having a step mom. Trust me I know. Making her cookies is very sweet and she will really appreciate them. Donna Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry " Audrey Snyder " <AudeeBird Sun, 28 Dec 2008 09:39:34 Re: Chocolate allergy??
