For ginger tea, I either put a bunch of ginger root through my juicer and mix a couple of tablespoons of the juice with some honey and hot water, or grate some ginger root, simmer it in water for a few minutes, then strain it and add honey. A bit of lime juice is a nice addition as well. Alex

I suppose caffeine in coffee may help? Interesting; all the posts wondering if coffee is healthy or not.. I have noticed coffee drinkers, and hard alcohol drinkers (in moderation / not heavy alcoholics) tend to live to be very old.. As a skeptic I realize many times we remember the success stories (we dont see the ones who already died).. Still something to ponder.. Almost all the health benefit stories I read seem to quote statistics.. And then go on to talk about some polyphenol or antioxidant.. In todays society, where big business rules everything (consumer protections out the window with conservatives), I feel these statistical health benefits are stealth advertisements (to buy coffee.. as in this example).. As Samuel Clemens said, there are " two kinds of lies, damn lies, and statistics. " I am not very trusting of things I read; given todays emphasis on making a profit, over health.. Someone said they tried to moderate coffee drinking, and now they drink 2x as much.. LOL,, A long time ago I tried to moderate drinking too much pop.. So I started drinking coffee to help moderate pop.. Then I drank both coffee and pop at every meal for the next 30 years.. bobbler
Guest guest
Have had much stress with moving and looking for a house. Between all that and the coffee, my stomach is killing me. Usually when that happens, I need to go off it for a while and take some Pepcid or something and let it heal. It doesn't do that to everyone but for me coffee is probably not a promoter of health. I wish it were. I love coffee. It should be a food group.
