Guest guest
my daughter started making international trips as soon as approved by our pediatrician. when she was 2 we talked about planes and i showed her the airports in our area and talked it up. we also took a lot of road trips so sitting in a car was nothing new and this helped prepare her to sit for great lengths of time. a must for us is the portable dvd player, if hubby is traveling we just use the laptop and she can play computer games or watch her favorite show. crayons and an activity book. she was never into the blankey or pacifier but taking a teddy/ baby was good. she took care of him which helped out a great deal in keeping her occupied. also snacks - raisins, crackers and chocolate soy boxes of milk. i think kids are great travelling when they are prepared. schedule your day so you have plenty of time. prepack and repack to avoid extra stuff that you don't need on the plane. be calm. a calm parent or aunt is a calm child. happy and safe travels - it will be fine! , nirali dholakia <nirali_dholakia wrote: > > Diane, > > I have had experience to fly with not just 1 but 2 personnels! just have the sippi cup that he likes the best, his favourite story books and particular blanky or 1-2 toys. that will help him. especially sippi cup helps when flight is taking off as when he sucks on the sippi cup the diffnce in air pressure wont cause his ears pop and wont be painful. it sounds alot but just put it in the diaper bag. oh yeah how can I forget his favourite snacks in the ll ziplock bag will be great. there should be no problems. > > hope this helps > take care > Nirali > > --- On Wed, 2/25/09, strayfeather1 <otherbox2001 wrote: > > strayfeather1 <otherbox2001 > OT Plz reply OFFlist Help w toddler's first flight > > Wednesday, February 25, 2009, 12:35 AM In a couple months, my little nephew will be taking his first flight. > He'll be 1 month short of 2 yrs old. Guest guest
Hello, I have flown with my two sons at various times. In addition to what Nirali said, if you can buy a few toys that they haven't seen before so it will be a surprise on the plane. Oor if you do not want to buy more stuff, put some of their toys away preceeding the trip...it will feel like a new toy to your toddler. Good luck. Guest guest
Thanks Nirali, good tips. There will be 4 of us to help carry stuff & entertain/contain him - he'll probably be fine and we'll all need large cold drinks lol.
