I have a few of these and they really work.

Seems like a tomato turns mushy if you cut it and wrap in saran so I toss the

unused half in one of these and it stays firm. I also use them for cucumber,

half a shallot, onions and even a half a red bell pepper.

I store a cut onion/tomato in a recycled glass jar. I always wash and then dry

the onion or tomato before cutting and rewrap the onion with it's outer skin

before placing it in a glass jar and putting on the lid. I've found that both

keep longer if stored on the kitchen counter and not in the refrigerator.

My favorite storage containers are canning jars. I use them for everything

including leftovers. I especially like the wide mouth quart and pint size. When

I purchase grains or pasta I remove them from their package and store in the

canning jars. They stay fresh longer.

I also grow and dry my own herbs and I store these in recycled glass jars.
