Im looking for a new Rice Cooker and need some recommendations.

Looking for a Stainless or Glass type.

Anyone know of a good one?

I cook lentils, rice and barley in mine.

Zippy like his starchy foods.

If the one I had was not aluminum I would keep it.

Thanks Everyone

Joseph

If money is not a problem, the Zojirushi cookers are perfection. Mine lasted

over 10 years and would probably still be working if the cats hadn't used it to

play Catskitball. I have a Black and Decker now and it is going great, also with

daily use, sometimes twice daily. If you only do occasional rice, a less

expensive one is good. If you eat a lot of rice, as we do, it is worth going

with the Zojirushi.

Hope this helps, Jeanne in GA

I agree with Jeanne, the Zojirushi is by far the best on the market. It is

easy to use and programmable. It's only limitation is that it can only cook

about 5-6 cups of rice.

If you need a larger capacity cooker look at the Breville. It also has

insertable stackable stainles steel trays, that also allows for simultaneous

steaming of vegitables. It has about twice the capacity.

We have both at home and use the Zojirushi more often. The Zojirushi runs

about $140.00 and the Breville was about $80.00. I don't think you can go wrong

with either brand.

I am not to familiar with the high end brands.

What I am looking for is the inside bowl you put the rice in

Need it to be glass or stainless.

Most of the cookers you buy are aluminum.

Have one of those right now and I need to get rid of it.

Just cooking mainly for my dog so a 4 cup model is big enough.

Gave away my Black and Decker for this reason had to keep the other one till I

get a new one.

Thanks Everyone for your opinions.

They make the best steamed taters and then the steamed taters make the best

potato salad.

I've had both the top of the line Zojirushi and Panasonic. I destroyed my

Zojirushi after about 4 years of daily use by trying to wash it (some rice got

stuck on the outside bottom of the pot and burnt unto the element). The

electronics stopped functioning and the repair costs were quite high, so I

simply bought the Panasonic Fuzzy as a replacement. Both make excellent white

rice. The Zojirushi also had programs for brown rice and congee though, and the

Panasonic doesn't. I often cook quinoa or rice mixed with quinoa. I can't wait

for a Fuzzy Logic rice cooker that has specific programs for cooking quinoa . .

These are my thoughts exactly!

I cook a LOT of rice--all different kinds, but very, very rarely the

plain " white " rice.  My son-in-law got a rice cooker while I was out visiting

him and my DD last March, but I noticed that his, like all the ones I'd seen in

stores and on the internet, had an aluminum (and " non-stick surfaced) inner

pan.  I would LOVE to use a cooker with a stainless steel cooking inner pan.  Or

glass inner pan. Do they make any like that anywhere???

I am just leery of cooking anything, even rice, in an aluminum pot and

I've gotten rid of all the cooking pans I used to have that were aluminum.  I've

looked and looked at many, many different cookers, but as far as I can tell,

they ALL have aluminum and usually aluminum plus non-stick surface inner cooking

pans.  I, too, would welcome any guides to finding a non-aluminum panned rice

cooker.

     Thanks!

Just in case you missed the previous post the other day.

Another member posted a good looking stainless one just forgot to bookmark it.
