Very easy, but make sure your yeast is still active.

Put yeast, a little sugar and warm water in a bowl. The water should be the

temperature for baby bottles, or place some on your writs and it should feel

body temperature, neither hot nor cold.

Add enough flour to make it the consistency of wet mud, or runny mashed

potatoes. Stir quite a bit (I count 100 times and figure it is good for the arm

muscles) and let it rest in a warm spot, covered with a clean dish towel or

cloth. This is called a 'sponge' and it makes the dough rise a lot more easily

with less need for lots of kneading.

One hour later, add salt (1 teaspoon for every cup of flour, so make sure you

count them) and enough flour so you can knead the dough. Divide into dough

balls large enough for a pizza crust and let them rise. I do this on the pizza

pan directly. After about 30 minutes or so, I stretch the dough into a pizza

crust shape.

Good luck.

Please show us the recipe that you used, along with any variations you

made to it, and I'll try to help you. Without knowing what you did, I

can't sey what went wrong.
