Soak garbanzos over night. After they have soaked up the water, they

are good to eat raw. When you cook them never add cold water as they

are cooking. If you need to add water add boiling water. For me they

are a lot better than canned.

Yvetta,

Thanks for this info about eating the Garbanzos " raw " . I would never have

thought of it. Also about adding the cold water. I will remember that.

I read recently where someone stated that they were not fond of Lima Beans. I'm

wondering if they have ever tasted fresh shelled and cooked baby Limas. They are

delicious. Same with peas, when fresh shucked. I love them raw. I'm growing Snow

Peas because I enjoy picking them and eating them raw. Great to be able to eat

their shell. The flavor is amazing. Just a note that I am an organic gardener so

I can pick and eat right from the vine without a worry.

By the way I spotted my first baby tomato growing in a container with it's

companion Curly Parsley. I've never tasted such delicious Parsley. No doubt they

love each other's company.

Life is just way too much fun sometimes.

Garbanzos that will sprout are OK to eat, after soaking overnight (I

suspect they are; I usually wait for 1/8 " sprout).. I am not sure if

garbanzos that are treated so they do not sprout are OK to eat after

a soak.. I do know every bean is different (for example kidney beans

need to be cooked even after sprouting)..
