Guest guest
This isn't a book, it's a very honest, touching email. Take your life day by day, we never know what tomorrow brings. Eat healthy foods. If you don't care for one vegetarian cheese, try another or just cut down on your cheese intake. That's what I have done, I add a sprinle of nutritional yeast to my spaghetti sometimes or on hot air popcorn. The less you eat cheese the less you seem to miss it. I will scramble 2 eggs whites in the morning, if you add a touch of turmeric it will brighten them to a yellow shade and give them a good flavor and you won't miss the yolk. I have lost about 30 lbs. without even really trying, and just cutting out as much junk food (it is a HARD habit to break ~ especially the sodas) I drink only one or two sodas a week now unless I buy them, then I'll drink more but even then my body has gotten used to better foods so I'm more aware of the junk when it goes in and am more aware of what normal is supposed to feel like. (I am morbidly obese and have a few of the issues he talks about in the movie.) I really had no idea. I know this isn't a diet group, I really don't want to be on one. I just want to add healhier and healthier habits into our lives and change. I have been looking for a group like this one just recipes and ideas, the decisions on what to do with it is up to me. > > I grew up eating fruit and veggies as snacks all the time, cookies and such were rare unless mom made them. For a few years as a teen I was actually a vegetarian almost a vegan, but didn't have the nerve to take it that far. I felt great during that time, but eventually caved to the pressure of my friends when we went out to eat. I'm seeing more and more of my family becoming vegetarians now and it's wonderful. I don't know if I will ever go completely back, but I want that love for fruits and veggies for my kids, and I want the energy I had back then! LOL So here I am mouth watering at all the wonderful recipes I can't wait to try. (First place I hit was the recipe files! LOL) I am willing to try new foods (always have been) so the tofu types of products I look forward to tasting. Don't plan on telling the kids (or the meat and potatoes hubby) what it is until after they try it. lol I already enjoy using portabellas as hamburgers pretty much. (Those are some YUMMY mushrooms!) The only thing I have a hard time wrapping my brain around is the veggie cheese. lol I had some once that was awful, so I'm hesitant to try it again, but I'm aware it could have just been the brand. I am wanting to try adzuki beans (?). I recently tried edemame (?) and loved it, which surprised me as I don't usually like those types of veggies cold. LOL I wrote a book! sorry bout that, but I have just had so much fun on this group with all the recipes. Now I just wish I had my juicer back! Guest guest
thanks for the tip with the turmeric it's one of my favorite spices, but I never would have thought to add it to eggs like that. I need to pick some up anyway, so I'll give it a try. ~Tee - paisleytrees Wednesday, January 28, 2009 8:13 PM Hello Tee This isn't a book, it's a very honest, touching email.
