Guest guest
Does anyone use a salad spinner, if so which one? I have looked a dozens online and so far I like the OXO pump action one. I used to have an old Tupperware one that I had to crank and crank to work. I have been buying more fresh lettuce than the bag lettuce and thought a salad spinner would keep it fresher longer. Guest guest
I had a spinner years ago, but it did take a lot of space, so when I managed to break it, I never got around to replacing it. However, for my romaine and parsley I now use something called a Spin 'n Stor bag. I wash my produce, give it a shake (probably not necessary, but I do it anyway), and put it in the bag. Holding the opening closed (can't be bothered with a twist tie), I spin it around and water is spun out of the main bag into a sort of channel on the bottom and one side. From there I can pour off the water and store the produce in the bag, in the fridge. I got my first bags at a market that has since closed, so I got my last batch at http://www.argeecorp.com/ They weren't expensive and they last a long time. Just another idea, particularly for those with space concerns. -ginger
