Guest guest
Use a dryer sheet (used or fresh) to soak in stuck pots and pans. After soakeing for a short time, it usually wipes right out. It is especially great for melted cheese that sticks in the kettle of mac and cheese! Judy C.
Guest guest
I once saw a woman on TV who could peel many, many boiled eggs in a matter of minutes. The basic idea is to drain the eggs and cool them under cold running water immediately. I swish the eggs around in the pot as the cold water runs over them so the shells crack a little. Tap the eggs on the inside of the sink a few times and the gently roll the egg between the palm of your hand and the sink, so the shell cracks even more. Peel under cold running water. Once you start peeling, you should find that you can take the shell off in just a couple of large pieces. Since seeing her demonstration, I rarely have trouble peeling eggs and can do a whole dozen in just a couple of minutes.
Guest guest
My guinea pigs disagree with Maureen on de-stemming strawberries. They tell me it is VITAL to take off the stems ASAP and hand them over pronto! I can keep the berries if I want to. ;-) -ginger kept by the g.p. boars Bumper, Brownie, and Cuddles
