Guest guest
Went to a fish fry last night, in the little Kansas town where my dad grew up and most of his family still lives. My great-uncle has this every year, and half of the town (including the entire congregation of the Presbyterian church) shows up. Other than the fish (yuck!), there were homemade rolls, probably two dozen different salads, macaroni and cheese, tons of fresh fruit and vegetables, and an entire 6-foot table devoted to desserts. This was my favorite of the salads. Cucumber Pasta Salad 1 1/2 c white vinegar 1 1/2 c salad oil 1 1/2 c sugar 2 tbsp onion powder 1 tbsp garlic powder salt and black pepper to taste Mix in blender; then pour over: thinly sliced cucumbers thinly sliced white onions 1/2 lb cooked mostaccioli Serve cold.
