Where are you from, different countrys tend have have slight differences in ingredients etc, also support available country specific.

Here in the UK, The Vegan Society will gladly help, see their web site for loads of info, and you can always call them for advice, they are very helpful.

IAWTC. Take it slow, and don't beat yourself up if you can't do everything at once. It takes a while to get used to what you can and can't have (and there are things that may surprise you on both sides), although you may find that you have the basics in hand much quicker than you'd expect.

Also, the internet is brilliant. If you want a few recipies for ideas and such, http://www.theppk.com/ is one of my favourites (and very welcoming), and the others have already posted some other links I'd recommend.

Ingredients of what?

Whether it's food or shampoo etc., I'd suggest not trying to replace

everything at once. Just buy what you need when you run out of

something. Look for the simplest products. In her book *What to Eat*,

Marion Nestle advises avoiding any food product with more than 5

ingredients. Or focus on one type of product a week, such as crackers

or whatever your favorite snack food is. Of course, cooking at home

is the sure-fire way to know what you're eating.

Paula, I am lazy as all get out -- I take leftover greens that can go in

soups and dehydrate them and add them to my soup greens jar. When I add new

things I stir up the contents to mix it all up and then when I want to add some

to soup I have a great mix of things. My soup greens jar has nettles,

dandelion, cleavers, chickweed, cabbage, carrots, spinach, broccoli and some

stuff

I can't remember.

hello peeps!

i need some help here. i bought a bag of collard greens to make a

KILLER GOOD recipe from vegetarian times, collard green cole slaw.

YUM. the problem is now i have half a bag left and no recipe to use

them. i don't want to just cook them plain when i could ask you to

further advise me. this group has been a great thing for me so far.

thanks to ya'll, i've had no problem sticking to the newly vegetarian

diet. (except for the mexican resturant the other day. if anyone

lives in canton ohio and has tried El Campesinos, they know what i

mean!) so if you can just throw out some recipes to me i'd be a happy

girl!

Add them raw to a fruit smoothie to make a very healthy green. smoothie. Also

you can toss them in a vegetable soup. Very good.

I add a bit of smoke flavoring to veggie broth, and then cook the

collard greens in that. It's supposed to approximate the Southern

style, which would include ham.

There's VegNews, but it tends to be on the militant side, and I find

that off-putting.

I think you might have better luck compiling a list of Web sites and

blogs to read regularly. Not a great economy for print magazines that

don't appeal to a mass audience.
