Guest guest
No Added Fat Granola with agave 2 1/2 cups regular rolled oats 1/2 cup sliced almonds 1/2 cup toasted wheat germ 1/2 cup sesame seeds 1/2 cup sunflower nuts 1/2 cup agave 1/3 cup orange juice 1/2 cup raisins or chopped dates 1/2 cup coconut chips In an extra large mixing bowl combine oats, almonds, wheat germ, sesame seeds and sunflower nuts. Stir together agave and orange juice. Pour over oat mixture, stirring until coated. Spread mixture evenly in a lightly oiled 15 " X 10 " X 1 " pan. Bake in a 300 degree oven for 45 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes. Remove from oven and add rainins and coconut if desired. When cool transfer to an airtight container up to 2 months. This is just my basic recipe. Feel free to change it up. I sometimes replace some of the rolled oats with rolled wheat flakes, triticale flakes and/or barley flakes. Any dried fruit can substitute for the raisins. Sometimes I make it with dried apples and leave out the coconut. I then substitute apple juice for the orange juice and add a 1/2 tsp. of cinnamon.
