Guest guest
IO sprinkle on my peanut butter sandwich. I don't think you should cook with it, takes the strength of the nutrients out Cin
Guest guest
You could definitely sprinkle it on top of soup (amount depends on your tastes). Heating flax to high temperatures does destroy the nutrients so I would add it just before you eat the soup. We also sprinkle it on cereals (hot and cold), add it to peanut butter and jam sandwiches (on top of the peanut butter and below the jam), and will add it wherever we can (also do the same with Chia seeds). Flax is better absorbed if it is ground up (e.g., in a coffee grinder) but should be kept in the fridge or freezer after it is group to keep it from losing nutrients. Guest guest
I keep the seeds in the freezer. Grind a small batch and keep in the fridge. Sprinkle on anything. I suppose it is handled in care to keep their oils intact. Oils - the good oils - are not to be exposed to air, heat and light! Breads sold in stores with flax seeds on them mean nothing because the seed itself is not digested . . . just takes a free tour.
Guest guest
I put ground flax seeds on everything. We have many potlucks where I live and I always bring flax and spread it around to everybody. I sprinkle it on steel oats after cooking, its really great sprinkled on Activia vanilla yougart, and even in salads. I don't think there is a food which I don't sprinkle some on. Seems to be my drug of choice lately. Love my flax. Guest guest
I have never used flax as a replacement for eggs; however, I would like to try. I can't seem to find my usual egg replacer (Kingsmill - anyone in Canada know where to get it? I can't remember which store and I've had no luck finding it). Can you replace all the eggs in a recipe with the ground flax? Thanks, Paula
