Guest guest
You'll have to go to a health food store, order online(Jeanne mentioned some places and Amazon is also a great place) or go to an Adventist Book Center(they are worldwide and have a great health food store in them). http://www.adventistbookcenter.com/ click on the store locator on the side bar. You can also buy vegan Jello at the grocery store, premade. The Hunts Gels and the Koolaide gels are both vegan. You'll find them in 4 pk containers near the pudding 4 pks. at room temp. Also you can make vegan jello using fruit juice and agar agar(also found online and at health food stores). Agar agar has stronger setting properties and, unlike gelatin which requires refrigeration to set, it will set at room temperature after about an hour - although it is advisable to store dishes gelled with agar agar in the fridge as it is a high protein food. http://cookeatthink.blogspot.com/2008/03/agar-agar-jello.html http://www.vegcooking.com/vegcooking-gelatinalt.asp http://www.vegsoc.org/info/gelling.html Judy - sewitis Wednesday, August 05, 2009 4:21 PM Re: TVP definition Hi! Where in the grocery would I find TVP? Also...I am unable to find vegan jello! Do any of you have a site where you order it from? Thank you! Guest guest
Judy...Thank you! Thanks for all the info! I will check into all of it...the agar agar I will check for online also... The grocery stores here do not carry vegan jello...they don't plan on it..... *sigh* it is really hard to move to a place and not be able to find all the things you have used before! LOL This is only the 3rd state I have lived in, but the other 2 had all the same things.... I would love to find some online places and just have some things shipped if the cost is right...the way gas prices are, it might work out even to ship rather than drive an hour or so one way to a health store! Gads! I miss my health food stores! LOL Thanks again, Sherri
