Guest guest
Welcome. Once I dropped all prepackaged foods (I use the term " foods " very loosely), added salt, and meats, my blood pressure went from being malignantly high to low normal. My cholesterol went from 320 to 174 within 3 months. Food was definitely the culprit in my case. There are a lot of ideas here on this website...make it fun. Don't make the mistake of adding cheeses and fat-loaded dressings; you will be tempted to make up for heavily salted foods. Everything will taste bland at first without salt and heavy fats...give it time, though, and the richness of the vegetables will finally come through to the stunted palate. - " Heather Farley " <heather.farley Friday, January 16, 2009 1:37 PM introduction to the group > Hi I'm a 24 year old stay at home mom. Guest guest
And there's lots of spices and herbs that don't contain salt. They can really add a lot of flavor. If you're not familiar with Penzeys, check 'em out. Their seasonings are great, and the salt-free combinations are clearly marked. http://www.penzeys.com At 02:02 PM 1/16/2009, Ann wrote: Everything will taste bland at first without salt and heavy fats...give it time, though, and the richness of the vegetables will finally come through to the stunted palate. Guest guest
I got through jars of Penzey's. Sunny Paris and Mural of Flavor I think it's called, oh and Tuscan Sunset. All 3 are salt free.
