I finally made some steel cut oatmeal. I was so confused and the guy at Whole

Foods directed me to it in the bulk food area. I looked at it and couldn't

believe it was oats.

I only thought there was old fashioned, quick one minute cook and the instant.

From now on I'm buying the steel cut. Takes a lot longer to cook but well worth

the wait. That is stick to the ribs food.

Thank you all for bringing this topic up. This group has been so good for my

health!

Steel oats are my preferred breakfast. I have bought them packaged and in the

bulk bin at Giant. The ones from the bulk bin cooked more to the consistancy of

old fashioned oats and took less cooking time even though they were labeled

steel cut..Are the ones from the bulk bin at Whole Foods firmer and crunchier?

Thank you.
