[HerbGarden] Rosemary Sourdough Rolls

I normally follow recipes as written and don't play around with them much.

This is one that I am working on, my husband and I love sourdough. We have

tried bread, rolls, pizza dough, and this is the latest (and greatest).

I am always looking for sourdough recipes, especially the recipes that do

not call for yeast. Somehow that just doesn't seem right to me.

This recipe is a two-day process, so plan ahead and don't rush it. I did

once and the rolls were terrible. I got the basic recipe off of

allrecipes.com - Becky Richardson is the submitter of the recipe (Sourdough

Bread I). I will type in my changes for rosemary rolls.

Rosemary Sourdough Rolls

1 cup sourdough starter

1 1/2 cups warm water

1/2 cup corn oil

1 1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup white sugar

1 tablespoon rosemary

6 cups bread flour

The night before, mix sourdough starter, warm water, and oil together. Stir

in salt, sugar, and rosemary until well mixed. The rosemary will possibly

float on top. Add flour, stir well. Put into a greased bowl and cover

loosely with plastic wrap. Let it sit on counter overnight.

In the morning knead dough on floured surface for 10 minutes. Divide in

half. Divide into roll size pieces, shape, place on greased baking sheet.

Let rise until late afternoon.

Bake at 350 degrees (175 degrees C) for 30-40 minutes or until golden brown.
